Meet Luz Maria Gallardo, Office Support Specialist Lead, who is one of the first faces clients see at our Hawthorn Walk-in Clinic. She enjoys building strong connections with her community, whether through singing with her church choir or helping clients access the care they need. Luz Maria celebrated her five-year anniversary at LifeWorks NW! 

Hawthorn Walk-in Center is a welcoming space

As the front desk lead for the Crisis Team, Luz strives to create a welcoming, organized, and supportive environment for both staff and clients at thHawthorn Walk-in Clinic. She oversees the daily operations of the front desk while also managing billing and records for the LifeWorks NW team. She also help bridge different IT systems to ensure processes run smoothly.  

Supporting clients in accessing care

Luz enjoys supporting clients at the clinic and finds her work rewarding. "Many of the people we serve, especially members of the Latinx community, are navigating extremely difficult moments," she says. "Being able to reassure them, guide them through our processes, and help them access the care they need is incredibly meaningful to me."

"I love knowing that even small interactions at the front desk can help someone feel seen, safe, and supported," she adds.

Life outside of LifeWorks NW

When not working, Luz loves spending quality time with her family and pets — they have three dogs and a parrot.

"I am also very involved with my church and recently joined the choir, which has been a wonderful new outlet for connection and joy," she says.

Finding a career built on caring and community

"I feel grateful to be part of a team that cares so deeply about our clients and community," Luz said. "I’m proud of the work we do in crisis services, and I appreciate the opportunities I’ve had to grow professionally and personally at LifeWorks NW."
