Oregon Health Plan (OHP) coverage changes in 2027

You may be exempt. This means the new rules do not apply to you. You are exempt if you: 

You may need to provide proof of your exemption. The proof will need to cover at least 1 of the 6 months before your renewal. If you know you are exempt, update your ONE account.

When the new rules may not apply

In some cases, the rules may not apply to you. We are waiting for more details about these potential exceptions. You may not need to meet requirements if you:

• Recently turned 19.
• Spent at least one week away from home to get health care for yourself or someone you care for.
• Stayed overnight as a patient in a hospital or health care facility. This may apply if you received critical care somewhere else.
• Were in another OHP program before your renewal. (We do not yet know what programs count.)
• Recently got out of jail or prison.
• Lived in a federally declared disaster area or a county with a high unemployment rate. OHP will tell you if this  applies to you.
• Are eligible to or receive Medicare Part A or are enrolled in Medicare Part B.

If the new rules apply to you, it can help to know what to expect before your OHP renewal.

You will need to follow new OHP work or activity rules to renew. You can meet the requirements in one of these ways:

• Have a household income of at least $580 each month (before taxes are taken out)
• Spend at least 80 hours each month doing:Work
• School
• Work training
• Volunteering
• Caregiving
• A mix of the above

You may need to show proof that you met the requirements. The proof will need to cover at least 1 of the 6 months before your renewal. Update your information in your ONE account to make renewal easier at one.oregon.gov.

You will receive renewal letters and other important information by mail. Make sure your address and phone number are correct.

• Ask your LifeWorks NW provider or the Front Desk to check your address and phone number.
• Set up or log in to your ONE account and check your contact details in the system.
