Many children, adolescents and families in our community are at risk of, or affected by, substance abuse. As the largest youth addictions treatment provider in the Portland-metro area, LifeWorks NW is here to support and educate at-risk youth (ages 12-21) and their families as early in the lifespan as possible to avoid alcohol and drug use.
Our many services include:
LifeWorks NW provides counseling and alcohol and drug treatment services for youth and their families. We begin helping anytime from first-time experiment to heavy dependence, by integrating their families and support systems into our programs and counseling, and providing access to self-help resources for life-long recovery support.
LifeWorks NW provides outpatient alcohol and drug treatment designed for African Americans, Latinos and youth from a variety of cultural backgrounds. For African American males, we also offer day treatment, residential and follow-up services.
For children and families facing both addiction and serious mental health issues, our thorough and specialized dual diagnosis programs treat both problems together, focusing on relapse prevention, mental health therapy and medication management.
LifeWorks NW also provides additional alcohol and drug treatment services for youth and their families, including mandated treatment for teens involved in Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII) or Minor in Possession (MIP) offenses, or treatment ordered by the Juvenile Justice Department or their school. Participation in these programs is arranged through the appropriate government agency or school.
