About the LifeWorks NW Senior Management Team

Mary Monnat, President/CEO

Mary Monnat has been President/CEO of LifeWorks NW since 1998. She initially joined LifeWorks NW as a chemical dependency and mental health therapist in 1983 before moving through various management positions. Mary earned her Masters in Human Development from St. Mary’s College in Winona, Minnesota. She is currently a Board member of Jesuit High School, Vision Action Network, Maybelle Clark Macdonald Center, and the Women’s Commission on Alcohol and Drug Issues of Oregon. Mary previously served as President of the Oregon Alliance of Children’s Programs and as a Board member of the United Way of the Columbia-Willamette.

Katy Beveridge, Administrative Support Systems Director

Katy Beveridge joined LifeWorks NW in 1994 as an administrative assistant and has moved through positions as Office Manager and Manager of Administrative Systems before becoming Director of Administrative Support Systems. Prior to joining LifeWorks NW, she served as Licensing Clerk in the Oregon State D.E.Q. Katy grew up in Portland and attended Grant High School. She received her B.A. in Liberal Arts with a specialization in Sociology and Special Education from Oregon State University.

Laurel Brennan, Development Director

Laurel Brennan has provided development and marketing expertise to the non-profit community for over 25 years. After receiving her Masters of Public Administration from the University of Washington, she was Research and Development Officer for the Royal Blind Society in Sydney, Australia. Returning to the Northwest, Laurel served as Development Director of the Portland Repertory Theatre before joining LifeWorks NW in 1998. She is currently on the Board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals-Oregon and was formerly on the Steering Committee of I Give Where I Live.

Les Busch, Child & Adolescent Day Treatment Services Director

Les Busch has worked in the field of child and family mental health for 35 years. He received his Masters in Education from the University of Portland and has worked in Oregon as an administrator for various organizations including the Grand Ronde Treatment Center, State of Oregon, and Christie School. Les joined the faculty of Oregon Health and Science University in 1985 as an assistant professor of psychiatry and in 1997 became Director of their Children’s Psychiatric Day Treatment Center (DTC). In 2007, when OHSU transferred ownership of DTC to LifeWorks NW, Les joined us as Director of Day Treatment Services.

Connie Dunkle-Weyrauch, Director of Finance and Strategic Operations

Connie Dunkle-Weyrauch has over 25 years of experience in financial and facility related management. She received her MBA in Management and Finance from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. Prior to coming to LifeWorks NW, Connie provided financial management to various non-profit agencies primarily serving individuals with developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries and physical disabilities. She served as Executive Director of Ramsey Residential Services in St. Paul, Minn. for three years prior to joining LifeWorks NW as Director of Finance and Strategic Operations in 1998.

Jon Emerson, Adult Outpatient Services Director

Jon Emerson has over 20 years of experience working in the field of addictions and mental health. He received a Masters from Brandeis University in English and American Literature, as well as a Masters in Social Work from Portland State University. Jon has worked as a counselor/therapist in various programs here in Oregon, and had a private practice for 12 years. In 1992 he joined a modest agency that grew into Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare, where he rose through the management ranks to Vice President of Adult Outpatient Services. Jon joined LifeWorks NW in early 2008 as Adult Outpatient Services Director.

Beth Glisczinski, Adult and Youth Addictions Services Director

Beth Glisczinski first joined the LifeWorks NW team as a practicum student in 1997. After earning her Masters in Counseling from Northern Arizona University, she worked for various behavioral health agencies in the Portland area, including management positions with Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare and Legacy Health Systems. Beth also started a private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in addiction, depression, grief, trauma, and personality disorders. She returned to LifeWorks NW in 2005 as Adult Addictions Program Director and became Service Director in 2006.

Alan Hencky, Controller

Alan Hencky joined LifeWorks NW as Controller in 2004. Previously, he served 20 years at Intel Corporation beginning as a financial analyst and growing into a Senior Level Controller position. Alan began his career as a financial analyst for Standard Oil of Indiana in Chicago, and received his MBA with a concentration in finance from The Wharton School in Philadelphia, Penn. Alan was previously a Board member of the Westside YMCA.

Joe Hromco, Director of Clinical Operations

Joe Hromco came to LifeWorks NW in 2000 with over 12 years of experience in the behavioral healthcare field. He is a native of Portland and earned his B.S. in Psychology from Willamette University. He began his career as a mental health specialist at Mt. Hood Community Mental Health Center. After receiving his Ph.D. from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., Joe returned to Oregon and served in various quality and clinical management positions at Ceres Behavioral Healthcare Systems before joining LifeWorks NW.

Mark Lewinsohn, Director of Clinical Services

Mark Lewinsohn earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and has over 20 years of experience working with children and families.  Prior to coming to LifeWorks NW, he worked in a variety of non-profit community mental health agencies and children’s hospitals, developing an expertise in psychological evaluations for children and families. Mark has been with LifeWorks NW since 1993, starting as a family therapist in our Adolescent Day Treatment Program and moving progressively through management positions before becoming Director of Clinical Services in 2008.

Phyllis Maynard, Adult Rehabilitation Services Director

Phyllis Maynard has over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. She has been with LifeWorks NW since 1982, beginning as a Social Club Manager and becoming a Service Director in 1986. Prior to coming to LifeWorks NW, Phyllis worked as a counselor at various organizations for mentally ill adults, including four years as a psychiatric social worker at Dammasch State Hospital in Oregon. She received her Masters of Social Work from the University of Illinois and has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1983.

Nate McAlmond, Information Technology Director

Nate McAlmond joined the LifeWorks NW Information Technology team in 2000 as Network Technician and became director in 2003. Previously, he spent four years in computer sales with Costco Wholesale in their Bend and Beaverton locations. Nate earned his B.S. in Information Systems and Quantitative Analysis from Portland State University. He also served four years as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the United States Marine Corps, including overseas duty in East Asia and Africa.

David Pollack, Medical Services Director

David Pollack joined LifeWorks NW as Medical Director in 2006 with over 30 years of community psychiatry experience. He has been affiliated with Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) since 1987 and currently is a Professor of Psychiatry at OHSU. In 1998, David was a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow, working in the Washington, D.C. office of Senator Edward Kennedy on health and mental health related legislation. He has also served as Medical Director for the Office of Mental Health and Addiction Services within the Oregon Department of Human Services. David earned his M.D. from the Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

Eliza Romick, Human Resources Director

Eliza Romick came to LifeWorks NW in 1997 as Human Resources Director with over 15 years of human resources experience. She began her career as Personnel Assistant with Thomas Industries, and then served nine years as Human Resources Coordinator with Great Western Chemical, followed by work with Reynolds and Reynolds Healthcare Systems as Human Resource Specialist. A native of Portland, Eliza earned her B.S. in Business Administration from Oregon State University. She has been a Senior Professional in Human Resources since 1997.

Ebony Sloan-Clarke, Culturally Specific Addictions Services Director

Ebony Sloan-Clarke began her career as an advisor for Mothers Against Gang Violence. After receiving her Masters in Social Work from Portland State University, she joined LifeWorks NW as a child and family therapist in our Leo Ni Leo program. She then spent several years in various management positions at the Juvenile Justice Center in Philadelphia, including a year as Behavioral Health Clinical Director. Ebony returned to LifeWorks NW in early 2008 as Culturally Specific Addictions Services Director.

Courtney Towne, Child & Family and Prevention Services Director

Courtney Towne joined LifeWorks NW in 2005 as a Program Director for Intensive Community Treatment Services, and progressed to Child & Family Services Director in 2008. She began her career working with children and families at agencies in Portland, Cleveland, and San Francisco. After receiving her Masters in Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work in Massachusetts, Courtney worked in several managerial positions at the Charleston/Dorchester Community Mental Health Center in South Carolina.
